George Johnson's DBMG Day at the Races

The Diablo Black Men's Group welcomes family, friends and supporters to an exciting day of horse racing at Golden Gate Fields in Berkeley.

The late George Johnson, a DBMG member organized this event over the past six years. George had a great sense of humor, loved his family and friends, and was known for living his life to the fullest. In recognition to the many years of character and effort George has given our organization and considering he’s been the catalyst for the DBMG Day at the Races, this social/scholarship fund raising event has been renamed in his honor.

The Day at the Races is a DBMG social event where you’re expected to dress up and play in style. You’ll have valet parking, Turf Club seating, an all-you-can-eat Prime Rib Buffet, an Official racing program, and a chance to be a winner without placing a bet on a single race. This is a rare chance to have fun and help inspire a young person to go to college. This is a race for higher education.
