To promote fellowship among Black men, to help African Americans and other minorities in the Diablo Valley actualize full citizenship, to include liberty, good health, social equality and economic vitality.
The Diablo Black Men’s Group (DBMG) is a brotherhood. Founded in 1999, it has evolved into one of the East Bay’s most influential organizations. Membership includes a variety of movers-and-shakers -- mayor, realtor, corporate executive, academic, software engineer, entrepreneur, retiree – men looking to support one another and leave a positive imprint in a world where they still struggle for respect and unbiased acceptance themselves.
DBMG works for its members, families and their surrounding community with vigor and passion. It provides a supportive network for members to thrive and exercise leadership in civic projects.
DBMG organizes healthy, fun events such as DBMG’s Memorial Day weekend Cobbler Shack at San Ramon’s annual Art & Wind Festival, DBMG’s July 4th picnic, the DBMG Scholarship Golf Tournament in September & of course the famous DBMG Black-Tie Christmas Gala.
More importantly, DBMG members put their skills & resources to use for others: Scholarships for high school students going on to college; Scholarships for students to attend the Tuskegee Airmen Flight Training Academy in Oakland; providing much needed transportation to participants of The West County First 5 Center Nurturing Parents Program; busing San Ramon Valley residents to the Museum of African Diaspora (MoAD), & presenting Prostrate Cancer Awareness & other Wellness programs to San Ramon Valley residents.
